National Doctor’s Day

On March 30, 1933, the first Doctor’s Day observance was held in Barrow County, Georgia, with the idea to pay tribute to physicians past and present. March 30 marks the date in 1842 when Dr. Crawford W. Long performed the first surgery using anesthesia. The holiday honors Dr. Long’s legacy while recognizing the contributions and sacrifices doctors make today. Though the technologies have changed from Dr. Long’s time, the commitment you make has not.

We focus on you - the patient’s true hero!

Happy Doctor's Day from Jackson & Coker and the Crawford W. Long Museum!
