No call - There is no on-call requirement for our Doctor to be available 24/7 after hours on week nights or on weekends.
The Client doesn’t typically need the Locum Tenens doctor to be on call 24/7; however, they may need to reach him/her by phone for a quick note (information exchange), i.e. maybe there is a problem at the pharmacy with his/her written prescription, or other such situation which may require limited brief phone calls or an email exchange.
The Client would only call or email our Doctor (meaning the nurse would call or email) only if they can’t find a solution or if it can’t wait until our Doctor works at the clinic the next time he/she is scheduled.
The Client is NOT willing to pay any on-call rates / additional pay for the minimal contact with our Doctor, mentioned above.
Client prefers 2 month minimum assignments but the longer the assignment the better.

State Operated Forensic Services is a 385 patient facility with several programs in 3 buildings. The patients here are primarily under commitment as Mentally Ill and Dangerous. Our programs includes an 85 bed transition service for patients getting ready discharge, an adolescent program, nursing home, a program for low-functioning sex offenders, admission units and programs for general psychiatric care.
The locum tenens doctor or nurse practitioner can expect to work in close proximity with psychiatric nurses who will work directly with them to communicate patient issues. We have an internal lab, pharmacy with Pharm D consultants, and a full complement of primary care physicians who do the H and Ps and nursing staff. Professional staff on the Treatment Teams also include psychologists, social workers recreation therapists, and behavior analysts. Locums can expect to see 8 patients a day for general psychiatric review. Time as needed for psychiatric admission assessments.
No evening or weekend call.
