This is for the Client's Crisis Clinic (urgent psychiatric care) located on the hospital campus. Hours: 10:00am to 6:30 pm Monday though Friday for a combination of telepsychiatry, clinic (urgent psychiatric care) or emergency unit work. Average 15 to 20 patients per 8-hour shift in the clinic for mostly medication management plus triage type evaluations (urgent care). For Telepsychiatry the Doctor would see very few patients which would reduce the number of patients seen in the clinic. Psychiatrist needed starting ASAP through 9/30/08 with the strong possibility of extending. Adult outpatient only. Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm, M-F. No call. Additional duties may require occasional Consultation/Liaison services in Client's medical/surgical wards as well as telephone consultations during the regular work day. No after hours call and no weekend call. The Locum Tenens Psychiatrist will generally be working with one other staff physician and supported by, two residents, nurses, social worker, recreation therapist and other mental health staff as necessary. Will work with a multidisciplinary mental health team treating veterans with a full range of diagnoses. One of the primary functions will be assignment to a PTSD Clinical Team (PCT). Duties will include psychiatric evaluation, psychiatric medication management, evidence-based psychotherapies, as well as coordination of care with other services as needed. The multidisciplinary team is comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, licensed clinical social workers, and addiction therapists. The LT Doctor will provide high quality evaluation and management of patients admitted for psychiatric care. Care on occasion will include psychiatric Consultation/Liaison services to the medical/surgical wards or when there is bed overflow from the psychiatry inpatient unit.
