Permanent
Physician Job Opportunity Appraisal
In order to understand your needs and your physician and community’s expectations,
we conduct an on-site evaluation. We meet the appropriate decision makers, physicians
and community leaders. Our objective is to help you develop the most successful
physician recruitment strategy for your community. Among the key factors we consider
are: the population/physician ratio; timetable for conducting the physician search;
description of the physician's duties; political considerations; review of the past
and present medical community; contractual considerations; and the interviewing
and negotiating process.
Beyond the professional considerations we glean as much “lifestyle” (housing, cultural,
schools, et. al.) information as possible. The foremost question on the mind of any
physician and his or her family is, “Can we see ourselves living here?” Utilizing
this first-hand information, we are then able to present your opportunity accurately
and in the best possible light, so that we may attract prospects who meet your criteria.
Sourcing
Based on the profile of your community and our mutually agreed upon candidate parameters,
we begin our sourcing campaign. Sourcing is the lifeblood of our mutual success.
Direct mail, creatively packaged, with a strong offer, and a clean mailing list
remains the #1 “tried and true” channel to attract physicians. Given that direct
mail is a must, other media such as telemarketing, journal advertisements, in-house
database, individual networking and utilization of the Internet, are conducted on
a nationwide scale. HOWEVER, we part company with our competition in that we have
developed a technology-based reporting process, and we have partnerships with the
only free permanent physician job boards which allow physicians and hospitals/clinics
to communicate and match job opportunities with physician needs.
In short, our resource capacity allows market reach to the most extensive network
of active job seekers (residents and practicing physicians), than any other physician
search firm in the country. This translates to more qualified candidates for you,
condensed initiation-to-successful placement time, lower costs and an accelerated
return on investment.
Personal Interviews to Qualify Candidates
Next, physician and spouse (if applicable) are interviewed telephonically to highlight
your opportunity in determining compatibility of professional, personal and lifestyle
goals. Upon locating the candidate whom most closely meets your requirements, we
validate license, conduct references and two physician disciplinary databank checks.
Once you have given us the “green light,” the Jackson & Coker consultant then
personally interviews the physician and spouse before their onsite visit to your
community.
During the consultant/physician interview, we are learning more about the physician's
goals and family needs while restating detailed information about your job opportunity.
This aids in building to a “peak of interest,” which is a fundamental aspect of
quick and successful closure. Following this interview, we will brief you with all
new information, concerns, etc.-which gives you the ability to respond before the
physician and spouse arrive onsite.
Prior to their arrival, the Jackson & Coker consultant prepares and delivers
a comprehensive dossier on the physician, family and motivating factors.
On-Site Visit
The on-site visit has been structured ahead of time to tailor the visit to the needs
of the physician and spouse. A written itinerary has been provided to the physician
during the personal interviews and all the details of the trip have been planned
by the Jackson & Coker search consultant in tandem with your staff to ensure
a successful site visit. An onsite visit of the community and practice that
closely matches the information the physician and spouse have previously given will
result in successful closure of the search. Within two days of the visit, the consultant
will seek an indication of interest from both the client and physician.
Agreement Negotiation
Obtaining pre-approved agreements ahead of the visit, and our third party involvement
in negotiation, is critical to timely closure. We are able to isolate problems as
a consultative third party. We serve as a filter and facilitator to work through
the sensitive and potentially “detrimental” issues in a timely manner. With your
approval, we then secure a mutually beneficial work agreement.
Follow-Up Service
Our consultative service continues even after the agreement is signed. We assist
in the physician’s relocation, help with moving, arrangements, and assist preparing
applications for
hospital privileges and state licenses if requested. Our commitment goes beyond
the handshake to ensure that both you and the physician are satisfied and your association
is a lasting one.
Jackson
& Coker employs a solutions-oriented team approach for each physician
search, with a principal of the firm
directing the team. A multidisciplinary team search ensures an effective strategy that produces excellent results. Clients receive detailed reports of each search
results at regular intervals, providing accountability
for time spent and actions performed.
Opportunity Appraisal
In developing an effective physician recruitment program, a Jackson & Coker
consultant conducts an on-site visit to appraise your specific needs. We take note
of numerous key factors, including physician-to-population ratio, hiring timetable,
community and job description, political considerations, and more.
Research to Identify Candidates
Based on the prepared profile, we search our own database as well as many other
sources. Extensive advertising, targeted direct mail, and on-line job postings are
utilized to attract high caliber candidates.
Personal Interviews to Qualify Candidates
After checking licensing and references, we conduct a telephone interview with physician
and spouse. Upon your approval, only those candidates who match your requirements
are interviewed in person.
Candidates’ On-Site Visit and Interview
After the interview
process, we select candidates for personal, on-site visits. Jackson & Coker
handles all arrangements for the meetings, allowing you to concentrate on recruiting
the best candidate.
Contract Negotiation
Once you have decided upon the physician
of your choice, we assist in negotiating the offer using guidelines previously agreed
upon. Finally, we review the contract in detail with the physician and secure his/her
signature.
Follow-up Services
We don’t stop working once the contract is signed.
We then assist in relocating the physician and helping him/her obtain hospital privileges
and state licenses. Our commitment continues to ensure that your association is
a lasting one.
